One of the plans Henk had made, was
to shoot footage, travelling from
Pilate's birthplace Ronciglione,
to the alleged final resting place,
the Lago di Pilato in Monte Sibillini.
The lake that sometimes is coloring red.
But Fausto had a better idea. It provided
both a backdrop and a protagonist.
The only player in fact. Fausto would
recall memories against a background
of buildings, designed by his mothers
brother Angiolo Mazzoni, a protégé of
Marcello Piacentini, Mussolini's architect.
"The railway stations of Massa, Montecatini,
Siena, a wing of Roma Termini. And post
offices in Pistoia, Grosseto and Sabaudia."

Sabaudia

According to Fausto you got the best impression
of fascist architecture in the new landscaped
cities in the drained Pontine marshes.
"Sabaudia, Latina, Pontina, Aprilia."
"Hey, is that a place. I know the name
only as a motorcycle brand." "You already
have a camera and a tape recorder, further
you only need a pair of roller skates or
skateboard." "What for?" "For smoother
camera movements, Leni Riefenstahl
filmed on roller skates. Ever heard of her?"
Fausto had more film knowledge than Henk.
"Triumph of the Will, that Nazi propaganda."
